I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and well wishes for my son's brain surgery.  We got to bring him home yesterday afternoon, which was surprising after the 1st night after surgery.  I spent that night at the hospital with him and he was in so much pain I didn't know what to do for him.  Morphine, Oxycontin and Valium didn't do a thing for him but make him sick.  The next day, they stopped the pain meds and put him on Advil and Tylenol and it worked like magic,  I was so relieved and we were able to even get him out of bed to walk down the hallway by the end of the day.  He was like walking a giant since he is 6'4".  Prett

First of all, I want to thank all you of you for your kind, supportive comments and prayers.  It means so much to read such amazing things from all of you!  Thank you so much  We were supposed to be at the hospital at 8:30 this morning and the surgery was scheduled for 10:30 am.  Well, 45 minutes before we left we received a phone call from the surgery unit saying they had to cancel Nathan's surgery because the surgeon had a family emergency.  So, after hardly getting any sleep and being a nervous wreck all day the day before, we were dumbfounded at first.  Brain surgery isn't like getting your wisdom teeth pulled for heaven's sake :eye

One of my twin sons, Nathan, is having surgery tomorrow on a malformation of his brain.  He was born with this and had surgery when he was 2 years old but has been having problems recently with severe headaches.  He is in the best hands possible at Nationwide Children's Hospital so that gives me and my husband great relief but I'm still as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs   I hate this for Nathan because this time he's 18 years old and knows what he's in for.  He seems to be handling it better than me at this point.  I went to work this morning for half a day and I had little to no concentration.  I couldn't sit still in
